Covington's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They blew past the Ripley Tigers 3-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 on September 4th.

Covington never let Ripley on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-13, 25-21.

Ava McCalla paced Covington's offense, picking up 25 kills. McCalla got some help from Caroline Cole and her 34 assists. Cole was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Covington has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Ripley, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-5.

Coming up, Covington will square off against Douglass at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ripley, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Millington Central at 5:00 p.m.
