Basketball Recap: Pinkston Vikings vs. Roosevelt Mustangs
Pinkston lost against Roosevelt on January 3rd and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Pinkston Vikings took a 61-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Roosevelt Mustangs.
Roosevelt was led to victory by Darius Washington and Markell Gomillia. Washington went 7 for 13 en route to 18 points along with seven boards and four steals, while Gomillia posted 13 points in addition to seven steals and six assists. That's the most points Washington has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Johnson, who scored four points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.
Pinkston's defeat dropped their record down to 14-13. As for Roosevelt, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-13.
