Basketball Recap: Niah Smedley's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Dublin Scioto over Hayes

Dublin Scioto lost against Hayes back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Dublin Scioto Irish took a 44-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hayes Pacers. The Irish have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Dublin Scioto lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Niah Smedley, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds. That's the most boards Smedley has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Evan Rinker, who earned 12 points.

Dublin Scioto's defeat dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Hayes, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.

Coming up, Dublin Scioto will look to defend their home court on Monday against Big Walnut at 7:00 p.m. As for Hayes, they will head out on the road to square off against New Albany at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
