Baseball Recap: Vanoss' Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Vanoss can bid farewell to their six-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Friday. They blew past the Sasakwa Vikings 11-5. The Wolves have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Vikings, too.

Cole Reeder made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over 4.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits (and only one walk). Reeder was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Kanon Bradley was a standout: he scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Owen Sheppard, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4.

Vanoss always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .564. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sasakwa only posted an OBP of .379.

The win got Vanoss back to even at 1-1. As for Sasakwa, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Vanoss will face off against Allen at 2:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Sasakwa, they will welcome New Lima at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The game will give New Lima their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season.
