2A Agua Fria Top Player Performances of the Week

Congratulations to this week's top players! We're covering the best performances from Friday's football action (using all statistics entered as of the time of writing). Enjoy!

Michael Anthony's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Cortez over Camp Verde

Starting off the list is Cortez's Michael Anthony, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Anthony rushed for 200 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.0 yards per carry. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 77-yard run.

Unfortunately for Camp Verde, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Anthony. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Anthony saw the Cowboys), he rushed for 127 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries.

Glendale Prep Academy Wins Third-Straight Thanks to Joshua Mchale

Joshua Mchale was instrumental in extending Glendale Prep Academy's winning streak to three on Friday. Nobody could stop Mchale as he threw for 260 yards and four touchdowns while completing 76.2% of his passes, and also rushed for 41 yards and a touchdown. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for four or more in the last three games he's played.

Unfortunately for Highland Prep, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Mchale. Mchale threw for 116 yards and four touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes, and also rushed for 55 yards and a touchdown the last time he and the Honey Badgers duked it out back in October of 2023.

A Season-Best Performance from Jamerrius Anthony Leads Cortez over Camp Verde

On Friday, Cortez had to settle for second even though Jamerrius Anthony put up the best numbers he has all season. Anthony rushed for 110 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 99 yards and a touchdown on only nine passes. His passing game has become a key predictor of Cortez's success: the team is 2-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-3 otherwise.

For the season, Anthony has thrown those 1 touchdown (and no picks) while averaging 19 passing yards per game. It gets even more impressive: after seven games last season, he was only averaging 17.43 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 64.71 rushing yards.

Dylan Lincoln Turns in Another Game with at Least 115 Receiving Yards

Glendale Prep Academy was led to victory by Dylan Lincoln, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Lincoln's receiving production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 115 receiving yards.

Lincoln must have Highland Prep's number; he was a force to be reckoned with the last time he faced them too. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Lincoln saw the Honey Badgers), he picked up 53 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
