Basketball Game Preview: Mountain View Mountain Lions vs. Sabino Sabercats

The Mountain View Mountain Lions will face off against the Sabino Sabercats at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Mountain View kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They lost 80-57 to Buena. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Mountain Lions have suffered against the Colts since January 12, 2018.

Mountain View's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Chase Reidhead, who posted 18 points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists, and Darrien Davis, who earned nine points along with eight boards and four steals. Another player making a difference was Nathan Kosanke, who scored eight points.

Meanwhile, Sabino really took it to Desert View for the full four quarters, racking up a 73-46 win. The Sabercats pushed the score to 64-34 by the end of the third, a deficit the Jaguars cut but never quite recovered from.

Mountain View was able to grind out a solid victory over Sabino when the teams last played back in December of 2015, winning 54-45. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mountain Lions since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
