Recap: Berkeley Prep Buccaneers vs. Lowndes Vikings

The Berkeley Prep Buccaneers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 25 points or more this season. They put the hurt on Lowndes with a sharp 56-31 victory on Thursday. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Berkeley Prep has scored all year.

Ruben Compton and Isaiah Camon certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Compton scored eight points, while Camon scored ten points. Those ten points set a new season-high mark for him.

The win makes it two in a row for Berkeley Prep and bumps their season record up to 6-1. As for Lowndes, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

Berkeley Prep won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Hilliard at 4:00 p.m. on December 22nd. Hilliard will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 194th, while Berkeley Prep is ranked 48th). Lowndes will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Valdosta at 7:30 p.m. on January 13, 2024.
