Baseball Preview: River Ridge Hawks vs. North Thurston Rams

The River Ridge Hawks will face off against the North Thurston Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, River Ridge was able to grind out a solid win over Sequim, taking the game 6-1.

Meanwhile, North Thurston won against Peninsula on Friday with four runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. The Rams never let Port Angeles get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory. The win was familiar territory for the Rams, who have now won three games in a row.

Not much got past Grady Wright, who gave up just six hits to keep Port Angeles off the board. Wright has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Rudy Larson was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylen Kennedy, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.

Larson wasn't the only one working in the home run department: North Thurston lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

North Thurston's victory bumped their record up to 8-5. As for River Ridge, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-7.
