Basketball Recap: Deer Skates Past Advanced Studies with Ease

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Deer's strategy against Advanced Studies on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Deer Antlers blew Advanced Studies out of the water with a 60-14 final score. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-11.

Leading Deer to victory were Mason Guinnip and Kaden Moore. Guinnip almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds, while Moore posted 15 points. Guinnip has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last seven times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayden Burdine, who had eight points and seven rebounds.

Deer's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Advanced Studies, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Deer will head out to challenge Founders Classical Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Deer is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.9 points per game this season. As for Advanced Studies, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lead Hill at 4:30 p.m. on January 21st.
