Football Game Preview: Benjamin Russell Wildcats vs. Pelham Panthers + How To Watch

Two dominant signal callers in Kingston Preyear and Dylan Smith are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Benjamin Russell Wildcats will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Pelham Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Benjamin Russell is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.

Last Friday, Benjamin Russell didn't have too much trouble with Helena as they won 28-10.

Benjamin Russell didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Lajayvious Calhoun led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. Another thorn in Helena's side was Kenderious Byrd, who made 11 total tackles (5.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, Pelham might've scored the first points on Friday, but it was Helena who claimed the real prize. The Panthers were just a hair shy of victory and fell 21-20 to the Huskies. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Huskies recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Benjamin Russell will need to focus on slowing down Tristen Rutledge, one of several Pelham players who made an impact when they last played. He rushed for 162 yards. Rutledge is becoming a predictor of Pelham's success: when he posts at least 100 rushing yards the team is 2-1 (and 1-3 when he doesn't).

Benjamin Russell's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Pelham, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Everything came up roses for Benjamin Russell against Pelham in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 27-0 victory. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
