Basketball Recap: DASH Takes a Loss

DASH has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They had to suffer through an 82-54 loss at the hands of the South Wake Sabres. The United were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-23.

When it comes to explaining why DASH lost on Friday, don't look at Stephen Edwards. Despite the final result, he posted 21 points. With that strong performance, Edwards is now averaging an impressive 15.5 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Jerimiah Foy, who put up seven points.

South Wake's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nathan Heiliger, who shot 60% from the field on his way to 17 points and five assists. Another player making a difference was Thomas Williams, who went 6-for-9 en route to 16 points.

DASH's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for South Wake, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-3.

DASH wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 78-37 victory against FAITH Homeschool on the 11th. As for South Wake, they have also already played their next contest, a 67-58 win against Varsity Opponent on the 9th.
