Softball Recap: Shelley Makes It Five in a Row on the Road

Shelley entered their tilt with Preston on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They had just enough and edged out the Indians 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Russets have posted since March 14th.

The team relied heavily on Carlie Hurd, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.

Shelley pushed their record up to 10-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Preston, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shelley will welcome Blackfoot at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Preston, they will take on Marsh Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.86 runs per game on average), something the Indians will no doubt try to take advantage of.
