Football Game Preview: Frederica Academy vs. Pinewood Christian Patriots + How To Watch

Frederica Academy will take on the Pinewood Christian Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Pinewood Christian will be up against a hot Frederica Academy team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Frederica Academy took down Bulloch Academy 35-20 on Thursday.

A big part of Frederica Academy's victory came down to the chemistry between Stanton Beverly and his top target Braxton Sykes. Beverly rushed for 90 yards and one TD while Sykes picked up 86 receiving yards and one score. Sykes really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 90 yards.

Meanwhile, Pinewood Christian was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past St. Andrew's 39-12. The win continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won six in a row.

Pinewood Christian found their leader in freshman Sam Wasson, who rushed for 164 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.8 yards per carry. Wasson has become a key player for the Patriots: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least 100 rushing yards, but 1-3 otherwise. Jojo Tippett was another key player, rushing for 36 yards and a pair of TDs.

Pinewood Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 300 rushing yards. They are a perfect 3-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

The victory got Pinewood Christian back to even at 4-4. As for Frederica Academy, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.

Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Frederica Academy has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 157.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Pinewood Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 182.9 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
