Football Recap: Riverside Prep Comes Up Short

Riverside Prep had lost four straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped down to 2-5 to make it five. They took a 28-12 bruising from the Santa Rosa Academy Rangers. If the Silver Knights were looking for revenge after losing 45-12 to the Rangers when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Daniel Gutierrez threw for 113 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Gerald Dill was his top target, picking up 60 receiving yards.

As for Santa Rosa Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.7 points on average over those games.

Jacob Goode had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 194 yards and three TDs, while also throwing for 119 yards and one touchdown on only nine passes. Those 194 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Riverside Prep will challenge rival Trinity Classical Academy at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th. Meanwhile, Santa Rosa Academy is set to face off against their familiar foe Temecula Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
