Martin Luther King proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by 27) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged the South Philadelphia Rams out 48-46. Winning may never get old, but the Cougars sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Martin Luther King's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tamia Hill, who posted 16 points. Another player making a difference was Janae Savage, who scored 14 points.

Several Rams players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was India Brooks, who had 25 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Justine Cardona, who earned 13 points.

Martin Luther King pushed their record up to 8-7 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.7 points per game. As for South Philadelphia, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-5-1.

Martin Luther King won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Baldwin at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South Philadelphia does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
