Basketball Game Preview: South Oldham Dragons vs. Madison Southern Eagles

Having just played yesterday, the South Oldham Dragons will head out on the road to face off against the Madison Southern Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. South Oldham has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

On Wednesday, South Oldham humbled DeSales with an 89-44 victory. The Dragons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 24 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Madison Southern, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They took down Bluegrass United 79-64 last Tuesday. The Eagles pushed the score to 74-43 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bluehawks cut but never quite recovered from.

South Oldham is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.2 points over those games. As for Madison Southern, their victory bumped their record up to 10-11.

South Oldham came up short against Madison Southern in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 93-82. Can South Oldham avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
