Baseball Game Preview: String Theory vs. Penn Wood Patriots

String Theory will head out to face off against the Penn Wood Patriots at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. String Theory is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.5 runs per game this season.

String Theory took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They came out on top against Swenson Arts & Tech by a score of 5-4 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

Aiden Jones made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single hit and allowed only one earned run while striking out eight over four innings pitched. He also allowed no hits, which is notable because String Theory is undefeated when he allows at most three hits, but 1-2 otherwise. Jones was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Martin Long was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Penn Wood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They came up short against Chichester, falling 15-0.

String Theory has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Penn Wood, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.
