Softball Recap: Colton Gets the Win

Colton proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by ten) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past the Summit SkyHawks 8-7. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 4-3 two weeks ago.

MADDY SOLIS was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. JOCELYN ORNELAS was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Colton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They got five more hits than Summit's also-impressive total of 11.

Colton's win bumped their record up to 16-2. As for Summit, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-13.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Colton will take on San Gorgonio at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Summit, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Grand Terrace at 3:45 p.m.
