No. 4 Long Beach Poly opens at Pacific Shores Tournament

Jackrabbits look to make an early season statement at 61st annual event.

Ranked No. 4 in the preseason Xcellent 25 by MaxPreps, Long Beach Poly (Calif.) will open its 2012-13 campaign at the tradition-rich Pacific Shores Tournament, which runs from Nov. 26-Dec. 1 at Redondo Union High School.

The Jackrabbits – led by senior Pac-12 commitments Roschon Prince (USC) and Jordan Bell (Oregon) – compete in pool play Nov. 26 against Manual Arts (Los Angeles) and Nov. 28 against Narbonne (Harbor City).

Other powers in the field include 10-time Los Angeles City Section champ Westchester (Los Angeles), defending Southern Section Division IV-AA champ Serra (Gardena) and Southern Section Division II-A runner-up Mayfair (Lakewood).

This year marks the 61st installment of the Pacific Shores Tournament and christens Redondo Union's Sea Hawk Pavilion, which has undergone extensive remodeling over the past year.
