Volleyball Recap: Wauwatosa East Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Wauwatosa East waltzed into their match on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Port Washington Pirates. That's more bragging rights for the Red Raiders, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The win didn't come easy: Port Washington scored at least 20 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-20.

Sylvia Flood paced Wauwatosa East's offense, picking up nine kills. Flood got some help from Evelynn Lasse and her ten assists. Flood was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Wauwatosa East's victory bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Port Washington, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-4.

Looking ahead, Wauwatosa East will be playing in front of their home fans against Hamilton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Port Washington, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Waukesha North on the 6th.
