Soccer Recap: Erwin Takes a Loss

Erwin lost against Enka back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Warriors lost 5-0 to the Jets. While losing is never fun, Erwin can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 373rd, while Enka are ranked 89th).

Erwin has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 1-11-1 record this season. As for Enka, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Erwin will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Asheville at 6:00 p.m. on the 22nd. As for Enka, they will host West Henderson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Enka's defense better be ready for this one: West Henderson have averaged an impressive 3.8 goals per game this season.
