Baseball Recap: Mountain Island Charter Snags Third Win in Last Four Games

Mountain Island Charter came out on top against Bradford Prep on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run third inning. The Raptors walked away with an 8-5 victory over the Bears. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 14-0 on Tuesday.

Tucker Belcher made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Belcher was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Liam Berger was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. That home run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Hansen, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs.

Mountain Island Charter is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-12 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Bradford Prep, they are on a 17-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-15.

Looking ahead, Mountain Island Charter will square off against Pine Lake Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Bradford Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
