Basketball Recap: Lance Bailey, Jr and Odean Gilmore Secure Win for Everglades

Everglades won the last time they faced Flanagan and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Everglades Gators walked away with a 59-47 victory over the Flanagan Falcons. Given the Gators' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 191st, while the Falcons are ranked 454th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Everglades to victory were Odean Gilmore and Lance Bailey, Jr. Gilmore went 6 for 7 en route to 12 points and six steals, while Bailey, Jr posted 19 points. Bailey, Jr is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was James Nash, who scored four points.

Everglades' win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-8. As for Flanagan, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-11.

Everglades didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 73-60 victory against Plantation on the 22nd. As for Flanagan, they will head out on the road to take on Miramar at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Joshua Skinner and Jason Carias.
