Baseball Recap: McCamey Triumphs

McCamey took a 13-run defeat the last time they faced off against Wink, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Badgers had just enough and edged out the Wildcats 4-3 on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Badgers.

Steven Rodriguez made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because McCamey is 3-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 3-6 otherwise. Rodriguez was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Aiden Torres and Ruben Baeza did most of the damage at the plate: Torres went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs, while Baeza went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Torres has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Antonio Galan, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

McCamey's record now sits at 6-7. As for Wink, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8.

McCamey will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wildcats: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
