Soccer Game Preview: Wakeland vs. Lone Star

The Wakeland Wolverines will venture away from home to challenge the Lone Star Rangers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Wakeland is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Wakeland's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over Creekview. The Wolverines' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last five matches.

Meanwhile, neither Lone Star nor Turner could gain the upper hand on Tuesday so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Lone Star's goal came courtesy of JT Shepperd, who's now up to three this season.

Wakeland's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-0-1. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three contests. With that draw, Lone Star's record moves to 3-3-3.

Wakeland beat Lone Star by a goal in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, winning 2-1. Does Wakeland have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lone Star turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
