Basketball Game Preview: West Greene Pioneers vs. Brentwood Spartans

The West Greene Pioneers will challenge the Brentwood Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. West Greene has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.

West Greene is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Bethlehem Center: they outscored them in every quarter. Everything went West Greene's way against Bethlehem Center on Friday as West Greene made off with a 64-39 win. The Pioneers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 25 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead West Greene to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lane Allison, who went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 29 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Allison has scored at least a third of West Greene's points. Matthew Wassil was another key player, dropping a double-double with 11 points and 14 boards.

West Greene smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Brentwood took a blow against Keystone Oaks on Monday, falling 50-10. The match marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

West Greene has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.6 points over those games. As for Brentwood, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.
