Football Game Preview: Corydon Central Panthers vs. North Harrison Cougars

Corydon Central hasn't had much luck against North Harrison recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Panthers will square off against the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. North Harrison took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Corydon Central, who comes in off a win.

Corydon Central will bounce into Friday's game after beating Silver Creek, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. The Panthers came out on top against the Dragons by a score of 32-21 on Friday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Panthers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Dane Naiman had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 48 yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for 289 yards and one touchdown while completing 76.9% of his passes. Jackson Likes made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Corydon Central didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Likes and Matthew Wolfe. Likes got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, North Harrison scored first but ultimately less than Providence in their contest on Friday. They fell 28-20 to the Pioneers. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Pioneers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Corydon Central will have to contain Bryce Fessel as he made an impact in North Harrison's last game. He rushed for 204 yards and three TDs. Fessel's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his sixth straight game with at least 136 rushing yards.

North Harrison's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Corydon Central, their win bumped their record up to an identical 3-6.

Corydon Central came out on top in a nail-biter against North Harrison in their previous meeting back in September, sneaking past 32-29. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Cougars' Caden Hoehn, who rushed for 52 yards and three touchdowns.
