Volleyball Recap: Leyden Comes Up Short at Home Against Rolling Meadows + How To Watch

Leyden unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rolling Meadows Mustangs on Wednesday. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Mustangs: they've now lost five in a row.

Leyden was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 26-24.

Antonina Saminska paced Leyden's offense, picking up three kills. Saminska got some help from Aleksandra Manojlovic and her five assists. Manojlovic was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Leyden will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Streamwood at 5:30 p.m. As for Rolling Meadows, they will take on Fenwick in a tournament on Saturday.
