Basketball Recap: East Valley Athletes for Christ Drops Highest Score of Season Against West Phoenix

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask East Valley Athletes for Christ). They really took it to the West Phoenix Eagles for the full four quarters, racking up an 87-34 win. East Valley Athletes for Christ has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 22 points or more this season.

Leading East Valley Athletes for Christ to victory were Landen Marker and Anthony Sorensen. Marker went 8 of 11 from beyond the arc on his way to 26 points, while Sorensen went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 26 points and five assists. Marker is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Jonathan Miller was another key player, putting up seven points and six assists.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: East Valley Athletes for Christ was working as a unit and finished the game with 24 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

West Phoenix lost on Tuesday despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Isaiah Brown, who posted 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kealin Covington, who earned ten points.

The victory (which was East Valley Athletes for Christ's sixth in a row) raised their record to 15-3. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 35.7 points. As for West Phoenix, their loss was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-11.
