Basketball Game Preview: Rockmart Yellowjackets vs. Union County Panthers

The Rockmart Yellowjackets will venture away from home to face off against the Union County Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Rockmart has now lost ten straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since January 4.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 63-31, which was the final score in Rockmart's tilt against Murray County on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Yellowjackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 452nd, while the Indians are ranked 23rd).

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Union County's strategy against North Murray on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Union County blew North Murray out of the water with a 69-26 final score. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 24 points or more this season.

Rockmart's loss dropped their record down to 1-23. As for Union County, their win bumped their record up to 14-10.

Rockmart was dealt a bruising 58-27 defeat at the hands of Union County when the teams last played back in January. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Rockmart was down 35-11.
