Softball Game Preview: Orange Glen Patriots vs. Classical Academy Caimans

Orange Glen hasn't had much luck against Classical Academy recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Patriots will face off against the Caimans at 4:00 p.m. Orange Glen has given up an average of 13.4 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Orange Glen couldn't beat Maranatha Christian on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the second inning. The Patriots came up short against the Eagles, falling 16-6. The Patriots just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Meanwhile, Classical Academy came up short against Escondido on Monday and fell 11-7. The Caimans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kalia Gonzalez was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Mykennah Beeney-Willard was another key player, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Orange Glen's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Classical Academy, they now have a losing record of 9-10.

Orange Glen suffered a grim 15-5 defeat to Classical Academy in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Patriots avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
