Baseball Recap: Daviess County Takes a Loss

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Daviess County and Apollo meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Panthers fell 9-4 to the Eagles. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Cameron Rickard made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Byron Jarboe, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Daviess County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Apollo, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Eagles beat Daviess County by a score of 2-1 on Thursday.
