Pewamo-Westphalia waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Maple Valley Lions, posting a 76-38 win. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 76th, while the Lions are ranked 562nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Pewamo-Westphalia's victory bumped their record up to 21-3. As for Maple Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-16.

Looking ahead, Pewamo-Westphalia will take on Bloomingdale in a tournament on Tuesday. Pewamo-Westphalia knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Bloomingdale likes a good challenge. Maple Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
