Basketball Game Preview: Deerfield Warriors vs. Niles North Vikings

The Deerfield Warriors will venture away from home to square off against the Niles North Vikings at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Deerfield is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Maine South on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Deerfield was dealt a 72-45 defeat at the hands of Maine South. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Hawks recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Meanwhile, Niles North was beaten by Maine East 64-36 on Thursday.

Deerfield's loss dropped their record down to 6-22. As for Niles North, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 14 of their last 16 games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.

Deerfield came up short against Niles North in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, falling 40-33. Can Deerfield avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
