Basketball Recap: East Chicago Central Takes a Loss

East Chicago Central played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 91-51 loss at the hands of the Crown Point Bulldogs. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Cardinals have suffered since January 27th.

Loss or not, East Chicago Central got some senior leadership from Jamarie Pollard and Joseph Watkins Jr.. Pollard shot 50% from the field on his way to 13 points and five rebounds, while Watkins Jr. went 5-for-10 to rack up 11 points. Pollard has also been stellar as far as shooting accuracy is concerned: he's posted one of at least 47% every time he's hit the court this season. Another player making a difference was Mekhi Gillis, who posted nine points.

East Chicago Central's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Crown Point, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, East Chicago Central won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Bowman Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Crown Point, they will take on Carmel at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
