Baseball Recap: Bayfield Sets Scoring Season-High Against Taos

Bayfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 16-11 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Taos Tigers. One positive for the Wolverines, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Tavian Box made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Isaac Forsythe was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Even though they lost, Bayfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .657. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.

Bayfield's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Taos, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bayfield will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Grand County at 11:00 a.m. on April 5. As for Taos, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Taos Tigers take on Robertson Cardinals at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
