Soccer Recap: Independence Comes Up Short

Independence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 7-0 to the Booneville Blue Devils. While losing is never fun, Independence can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi soccer rankings (they are ranked 135th, while Booneville are ranked 50th).

Independence's defeat dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Booneville, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

Independence does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Booneville, they will face off against St. Andrew's Episcopal at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
