Volleyball Recap: Monday's Win Is Madonna's 12th in Last 15 Outings

Madonna won the last time they faced Wellsville and things went their way on Monday too. The Blue Dons were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Tigers.

Madonna didn't let Wellsville take a single set, but it sure wasn't easy: every set was decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-23, 27-25.

Leading Madonna to victory were Breea Birkhimer and Danyka DeCaria. Birkhimer had 11 digs and two aces, while DeCaria had ten digs and two assists. Those 11 digs gave Birkhimer a new career-high. Abigail Boyd also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Madonna is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6-1 record this season. As for Wellsville, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.

Madonna didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Trinity Christian on the 24th. As for Wellsville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against East Palestine on the 23rd.
