Soccer Game Preview: Valencia vs. Tustin

The Valencia Tigers will take on the Tustin Tillers at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Valencia is likely headed into the contest with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Santa Ana on Friday. Valencia lost 3-0 to Santa Ana. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Tigers came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Saints are ranked 246th).

Meanwhile, Tustin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They fell 2-0 to Santa Ana. That's two games in a row now that the Tillers have lost by exactly two goals.

Tustin's defeat dropped their record down to 2-16-1. As for Valencia, their loss dropped their record down to 13-4-3.

Everything went Valencia's way against Tustin in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as Valencia made off with a 3-0 victory. Will Valencia repeat their success, or does Tustin have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
