Softball Recap: Ben Lomond Takes a Loss

Ben Lomond extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to ten on Friday, dropping their season record down to 0-9 in the process. They came up short against the South Summit Wildcats, falling 19-1. That's two games in a row now that the Scots have lost by exactly 18 runs.

As for South Summit, their record is now 12-10. The win continues a trend for them in their matchups with Ben Lomond: they've now won eight in a row.

For South Summit's part, Toshlyn Louder was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Louder has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Mariah Bowen was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, eight RBI, and four runs. Those eight RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Malia Olson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
