Softball Recap: Oakman Wildcats vs. Lynn Bears
Oakman came into Thursday's matchup having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. Everything went their way against the Lynn Bears on Thursday as the Oakman Wildcats made off with a 10-3 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wildcats considering their two-run performance the contest before.
Sophie Davis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March of 2024.

On the hitting side, Oakman got a massive performance out of Journi Randle, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-3. Those three stolen bases gave Randle a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrie Franks, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Oakman picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 9-10. As for Lynn, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-4-1.
Looking ahead, Oakman will take on Cordova at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Cordova is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season. As for Lynn, they will be taking part in a tournament against Lamar County at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Lynn is facing Lamar County at the right time seeing as Lamar County is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
