Basketball Recap: LEE Comes Up Short

LEE was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They took a blow against the Clark Cougars, falling 62-31. While losing is never fun, the Volunteers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 755th, while the Cougars are ranked 83rd).

Jaden Flemons was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 28 points and ten steals for Clark. Those 28 points gave Flemons a new career-high. Andrew Vidouria was another key player, putting up ten points and three steals.

LEE's defeat dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Clark, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

LEE will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Brandeis at 11:00 a.m. on December 31st. Brandeis knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully LEE likes a good challenge. Clark also won't see the court for a while: their next match is against Churchill at 12:30 p.m. on December 31st. Churchill will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Clark surely won't give up without a fight.
