Cedar Ridge is a perfect 4-0 against Mt. Vernon-Enola since December of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Timberwolves will head out on the road to square off against the Warhawks at 7:00 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Cedar Ridge has struggled recently with ten losses in a row, while Mt. Vernon-Enola will arrive with 14 straight victories.

The home team had won the previous six meetings between Cedar Ridge and Izard County, and Izard County kept the tradition alive. The Timberwolves came up short against the Cougars on Tuesday, falling 61-41. While losing is never fun, the Timberwolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 232nd, while the Cougars are ranked 111th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mt. Vernon-Enola). They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat South Side 96-68. The Warhawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Cedar Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Mt. Vernon-Enola, their win bumped their record up to 14-2.

Cedar Ridge beat Mt. Vernon-Enola 71-61 in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Will the Timberwolves repeat their success, or do the Warhawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
