Softball Game Preview: Robertsdale Golden Bears vs. Citronelle Wildcats

Robertsdale is a perfect 3-0 against Citronelle since February of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. Robertsdale will look to defend their home field against Citronelle at 6:30 p.m. Citronelle took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Robertsdale, who comes in off a win.

On Tuesday, Robertsdale got the win against Elberta by a conclusive 9-3. The victory continues a trend for the Golden Bears in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won eight in a row.

Ashton Mckey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kinsley Stevens, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Danica Parnell, who scored two runs while going 2-for-5.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Citronelle's offense. They came up short against Faith Academy on Tuesday, falling 11-0. The loss continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Rams: they've now lost five in a row.

Citronelle's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Robertsdale, their win bumped their record up to 11-9.

Robertsdale took their victory against Citronelle in their previous meeting back in February by a conclusive 22-5. Will Robertsdale repeat their success, or does Citronelle has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
