The La Mirada Matadores will be taking part in a tournament against the Wesleyan Christian Academy Trojans at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Wesleyan Christian Academy took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on La Mirada, who comes in off a win.

La Mirada is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another highly-ranked state team: Poly Prep Country Day, who was ranked sixth in their home state at the time (La Mirada was ranked second). The Matadores walked away with a 6-2 win over the Blue Devils on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Wesleyan Christian Academy suffered their biggest loss since April 10, 2024 on Thursday. They came up short against Stony Brook, falling 12-1. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Wesleyan Christian Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Blake Goff, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that Goff hit this season.

Wesleyan Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for La Mirada, their victory bumped their record up to 15-3.
