Volleyball Preview: Parkland Matadors vs. Del Valle Conquistadores
Parkland hasn't had much luck against Del Valle recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Parkland Matadors will take on the Del Valle Conquistadores at 6:35 p.m.
Last Friday, Parkland came up short against Varsity Opponent and fell 3-1. The Matadors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Del Valle was able to grind out a solid victory over Horizon on Tuesday, taking the game 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Conquistadores.
After all that action, the final score was 25-21, 23-25, 25-20, 25-20.
Mia Puga had a dynamite game for Del Valle, getting 15 digs and 20 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaitlyn Chavez, who had seven digs and two aces.
Del Valle kept the net locked down and finished the game with 11 blocks. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least six blocks in five consecutive contests.
Parkland's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Del Valle, their record now sits at 12-10.
