A Season-Best Performance from Elliott Murphy Leads Powhatan over Cosby

Powhatan was led to victory by Elliott Murphy, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Murphy rushed for 59 yards and three touchdowns, and also threw for 252 yards and three touchdowns while completing 81.3% of his passes.

The win got Powhatan back to even at 3-3. Murphy and Powhatan will take on Midlothian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

John Washington's Big Game Leads Huguenot over Manchester

Huguenot picked up their sixth consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to John Washington. Washington did his part (and then some), rushing for 145 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.1 yards per carry for the 'W'. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 116 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Huguenot pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. Washington and Huguenot will head out on the road to face off against L.C. Bird at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Huguenot Gets a Boost from Johnson in 32-7 Win

Huguenot picked up their sixth consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Linwood Johnson. Nobody could stop Johnson as he rushed for 82 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries, and also threw for 149 yards and a touchdown on only 13 passes.

For the season, Johnson has thrown 14 touchdowns while averaging 151.7 passing yards per game.

Dk Chapman Jr. Dazzles in Midlothian Win

Dk Chapman Jr. put up the most rushing yards he's had since back in August of 2023 on Friday. He rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries, and also picked up 33 receiving yards and a touchdown. His longest rush was for an impressive 56 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

The win (which was Midlothian's fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-1. Chapman Jr. and Midlothian will stay at home for another week and welcome Powhatan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Ben Whitver Delivers Best Effort of Season

On Friday, Powhatan got the W thanks in part to Ben Whitver playing the best football he has all season. Whitver picked up 127 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 95 yards.

On the season, Whitver has caught 7 touchdowns while averaging 89 receiving yards per game.
