Palmer Ridge has won six straight games at home, while Cheyenne Mountain has won six straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Wednesday. The Bears will host the Red-Tailed Hawks at 4:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Last Wednesday, Palmer Ridge got the win against Lewis-Palmer by a conclusive 13-3. The Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by six runs or more this season.

Pam Boyarko spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on five hits and racked up 11 Ks. Those 11 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
On the hitting side, Palmer Ridge got a massive performance out of Corinna Arellano, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Rielyn Bentz, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
Palmer Ridge hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in seven consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Cheyenne Mountain hadn't done well against Discovery Canyon recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Red-Tailed Hawks skirted past the Thunder 11-10. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Red-Tailed Hawks have posted since September 15th.
Cheyenne Mountain also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Addison Gutschick gave up ten runs (all of which were unearned) on 11 hits and racked up seven Ks.
At the plate, Abbi Houger was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in October of 2024. Madison Anderson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Palmer Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 17-3. As for Cheyenne Mountain, their win bumped their record up to 16-4.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. Palmer Ridge hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1.2 home runs per game. However, it's not like Cheyenne Mountain struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Palmer Ridge came out on top in a nail-biter against Cheyenne Mountain when the teams last played two weeks ago, sneaking past 8-7. Will the Bears repeat their success, or do the Red-Tailed Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
