Softball Recap: North Springs Spartans vs. Lithonia Bulldogs

Everything went their way against the Lithonia Bulldogs on Tuesday as the North Springs Spartans made off with a 19-0 win. Considering the Spartans have won eight matchups by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Beck Ballowe made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching an inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Ballowe was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, North Springs got a massive performance out of Jada May, who went 3-for-3 with a home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. The dominant performance also gave May a new career-high in hits. Kara Hutton was another key player, going 2-for-2 with six RBI, a triple, and a run.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, North Springs always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .808. That's a new trend for them: their average OBP was 36.2% earlier this season, but in their last five matches they've averaged 58.8%.
