Baseball Game Preview: Trabuco Hills Mustangs vs. El Toro Chargers

The Trabuco Hills Mustangs will face off against the El Toro Chargers at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. El Toro took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Trabuco Hills, who comes in off a win.

Trabuco Hills' pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They blew past Foothill Tech 8-0. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.

Mikey Gray was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February. Jeremy Hernandez was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Trabuco Hills hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Foothill Tech struck out eight times.

Meanwhile, El Toro came up short against Mission Viejo on Friday and fell 8-5. The Chargers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Niko Castillo was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Jack Mckelvy, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

El Toro's defeat dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Trabuco Hills, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That somehow still isn't as good as their 14-4-1 record this season.
